I am a spouse, dad, runner, and have the good fortune of holding a tenured academic position. I am Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario. My teaching, research and general interests are grounded in the areas of visual culture, visual communication, sport studies, and surveillance studies. I am specifically interested in photography and related imaging practices, particularly in the use of images as visual evidence.
I am now researching and writing on the topic of self-tracking, with an emphasis on endurance sport.
